Company principal, James Stewart has many years of experience in working in the field of laser safety consultancy, with a particular understanding of the issues that are faced in entertainment applications. His experience in this subject has meant that his skills have been used by some of the world's leading performers, working directly with artists including Roger Waters (Pink Floyd), Madonna, Coldplay, Bjork and the Scissor Sisters. His skills in laser safety management are also used by UK's leading entertainment venues such The 02 Arena, The NEC Group, Wembley and Earls Court, where he is regularly employed as the consulting Laser Safety Officer. James regularly presents Laser Safety Training days within the UK.

James also works with the National Physical Laboratory in London as an approved deliverer of their laser safety training framework for industry.

A natural extension to the work in laser safety and scanning radiation evaluation, for James has been Broadband Optical Radiation Assessment. Working with NPL, James has been developing his in depth knowledge of the laser safety standards and principles to cover the wider area of broadband light source assessment. This has lead to LVR gaining a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of the complex evaluation of occupational exposure to Lasers, LEDs and other harmful light sources, with practical ways in which the risks can be managed through workplace assessments.

Underpinning the expertise that LVR are able to offer, in addition to the more specialist scientific safety work, is a strong appreciation of broader workplace health and safety issues, particularly in regard to small to medium size enterprises, where LVR understand the difficulties and concerns in implementing an effective approach to H&S. The appreciation we have of this area and the issues that face business allows LVR to utilise our expertise in ways that are of maximum benefit to these type of organisation. LVR's aim is to foster the practice of good health and safety within a business enhancing the business rather than it being an obstruction.
